A short note from Wilkies owner and Managing Director, Karen Forret
29 August 2018
Wilkies of Stirling, 44 King Street, will close its doors for the final time in mid-October after 15 years of trading. The decision to close our Stirling store has not been taken lightly and we are deeply saddened to be leaving the premises at 44 King Street. I would like to thank our wonderful staff for all of their hard work over the years; we have a fabulous team in Stirling and my thoughts are with them at this difficult time. We will look to offer roles where we have them in other stores.
I would also like to thank our customers in Stirling and the surrounding areas who have supported us greatly over the years, it has been a pleasure to serve you and I hope that we may see you in our other stores close by such as Wilkies of Falkirk and Perth.
Although there is a great sadness, we can leave the Stirling premises and King Street knowing that we have done everything in our power to make the store successful. The store has been too large for us for some time and although we have explored renting out parts of the store, sadly this did not have the desired outcome. In current trading conditions we can not continue to run a store that is making a loss, we must use all of our efforts to ensure we can keep the rest of the business thriving.
We will be open as usual until mid-October. If you have not shopped with us for a while, you can find out more about the store here.
We would once again like to thank our loyal customers at Wilkies of Stirling and hope that, from time to time, you will visit us at Wilkies of Falkirk or Perth.
